    Ideas for Scenario Games

I'd like this to be a place for folks to post their ideas for Scenario games they'd like to see at #1.  Keep in mind the Saturday only format, or a creative "Friday Evening on into Saturday Evening" to try to squeeze in more game play.  The Scenarios at the park have been really creative, lets see if we can match the quality storylines, or come close.

I'd like to see some games based on the old pen & paper game "Twilight 2000", where the premise of a post WWIII story takes place.  A stranded US Army platoon in Manchuria...British forces defending a port off the coast of Argentina, or with the break-up of the 50 states, having Texas defend herself against invading hordes of Louisianans and Arkansians.

I have more, but I'd like to hear from other nerds, eerr I mean gamers.

XSCOUT - These type of games are great and have their place.  If there is enough interest in this type of format I'll have the team who has been building up the games look into it.  The feedback I've had so far from the majority of the players is that they would rather play a fun type format where there is not so much emphasis on special roles or characters.  If that has changed please let me know and we'll do our best to put together the type of game that the players want to play.

I agree, special roles and character driven games aren't always all they are hyped up to be.

But "Medic" in a tactical type game is pretty straight forward.  Likewise having one side represent a fictitious  military unit  vs gosh, dinosaurs or something equally threatening...maybe Smurfs?  Big Smile

    Re: Ideas for Scenario Games

a smurf war theme would be awsome every one running around in white pants and painted blue Stick out tongue heh j/k

I guessing that the one day format tends to attract more of the never played a scenario types to play the game. But still themes for the games does give it some purpose.

     lets see:

Dune - Freemen vrs the Empire (worms instead of helicopters)

Star Wars - Hoth battle or clone wars

Pirates of the Carribean - East Indies Trading company vrs the Pirates

I may add more later this is spur of the moment.

    Re: Ideas for Scenario Games

This may sound nuts, but I was talking with some friends about playing a "Civil War" style game where all markers were loaded one ball at a time. No hoppers. No magazines. Drop a ball into the neck and shoot. Kind of like using a musket.

Gettysburg, Antietam bridge (Bochicaville would be perfect) or some such.

We'd separate the men from the boys. No more 30 balls per second. March in rank boys! Skirmishers out FRONT!

Other than that, I kinda like the Smurf idea. Who would they fight? I don't remember much about Smurfs.

    Re: Ideas for Scenario Games

Not neccessarly, you could still use your semi or electro you wold just not have a hopper you would have to drop one ball in at a time.

It's a cool concept and its been done before, only problem being paint sales are part of what supports the games and doing a single shot scenario won't sell much paint.

But if it happens I'm in CoolYesBeer

Too true about the paint sales.  That make my idea dead already, but I'll toss it out.

What about a Wild West themed scenario, pumps and pistols only?  Throw in a couple regular semi's as "Gattlin Guns" for each side and things could get interesting!

    Just a thought.

    Re: Ideas for Scenario Games

An idea hit me the other day... Anyone remember "Small Soldiers"?

If not the whole thing is about the "GI Joe" like action figures are mortal enemies to these Alien like action figures called "Gorgeons". They come to life and duke it out in a old movie.

    Re: Ideas for Scenario Games

Cool idea! Here is a description of the movie "Small Soldiers" I found online:

A toy company believes it is onto something when it employs the latest government military technology in a series of action figures, enabling them to talk. They underestimate the power of the special micro chips they've employed, however, as the two opposing sides of the toy line start thinking for themselves and engaging in real combat. The Commando Elite (belligerent war toys) vow to wipe out the Gorgonites (kindhearted misfit fantasy creature figures) in a suburban neighborhood. A young boy, with the help of the kind Gorgonites, must protect his home and family from the Commandos.
